Killer whales, also known as orcas, are some of the most intelligent mammals on this planet. Keeping these spectacular, social animals in captivity is cruel; leads to tremendous stress; keeps them separated from family members; and, according to experts in marine biology, causes earlier death compared to orcas in the wild.
Let's stop this cruel and ridiculous practice of confining these exquisite animals in tiny pools for public display and entertainment.
Why is this important?
After seeing "Blackfish" and reading "Death at Sea World" and "Beneath the Surface", and doing my own research on killer whales, I strongly believe in this mission.
