Stop 'secure communities program'
The Secure Communities program is making insecure communities. Instead of targeting serious criminals,the program targets people with minor traffic offenses. Immigrant communities are now afraid to call police for any reason. This program should be stopped immediately.
Why is this important?
Secure communities is a federal program that deports people who are stopped for minor traffic offenses, tears families apart, undermines community policing and terrifies immigrant communities. This program was supposed to protect us from terrorists not hardworking people with dark skin.
