Stop 'secure communities program'

The Secure Communities program is making insecure communities. Instead of targeting serious criminals,the program targets people with minor traffic offenses. Immigrant communities are now afraid to call police for any reason. This program should be stopped immediately.

Why is this important?

Secure communities is a federal program that deports people who are stopped for minor traffic offenses, tears families apart, undermines community policing and terrifies immigrant communities. This program was supposed to protect us from terrorists not hardworking people with dark skin.

Reasons for signing

a very small % of immigrant people have any criminal background. Why target innocent people?

There are so many things that are wrong in this day and age. I still get harrassed for having Grateful Dead stickers on my car. I get pulled over and feel so hassled by LAPD. DO I LOOK LIKE CHARLIE MANSON ???! This is easier than busting CRACK HOUSES!

This program doesnt work. Only very few people can benefit from it and since this is a democracy the program should be cancelled
