If Repubicans are looking for way to cut taxes, I propose that the income tax on Social Security retirement benefits be eliminated.
Why is this important?
I am taking Social Security retirement benefits early in order to make ends meet. Of course, I am being penalized for doing this by receiving a lesser amount. On top of that I am being taxed for this portion of my income.
Since the Republicans are so keen on cutting taxes, perhaps we should end the income tax on what was intended to be an entitlement and for which we have paid in all of our working lives.
