Soon after the AIDS epidemic began gay people were not allowed to donate blood. At the time the policy was sound as gay men seemed to be most at risk for the disease. Now however with advanced AIDS testing and the knowledge that anyone could get HIV/AIDS this policy is discriminatory to the gay community

Gay people are not allowed to donate blood if they had sex within a certain period of time due to the risk of AIDS. This is extremely discriminatory
