Stop the urban calming on E 10th St.

The City of Indianapolis and DPW has a Duty of care to maintain safe and effective roadways. They are responsible for all designs and implementation of those designs. Please remove the overly abundant barriers, and have this redesigned by professional urban designers. This is poorly executed and is inconvenient, restrictive, and an eyesore.

Why is this important?

E 10th St is a heavily traveled road. It is also a major Indygo bus route. The current calming project has made it difficult to turn from Ritter to 10th St. Driveways now do not have the full 100ft of space to be able to pull over. Delivery Drivers will no longer be able to stop without causing backups. Potholes will grow every spring and now there will be no room to avoid them. If the goal is slowing down traffic then speed bumps, onstreet parking, strategic islands, and traffic speed cameras are other options. E 10th St is a main east to west road. It is near a hospital, and is a bus line, and has on street waste and recycling pickup. Limiting the flow of traffic is not the best way to solve a speeding problem. The City policy for tactical Urbanism states that it must not be implemented on Public Transportation bus routes and lanes. A "road diet" appropriate for more heavily travelled roads, which is what E 10th street underwent when it went from 4 lanes to 2 with a middle turn lane. This project was started on a data set of 199 survey responses. This is not acceptable. STOP THIS PROJECT and start over.

How it will be delivered
