Stop Use of TOXIC Rubber Mulch on Playgrounds

Stop the illegal disposal of TOXIC rubber mulch on our children's playgrounds now.

Why is this important?

Rubber mulch (recycled ground tires) is highly toxic to our children, the environment, and groundwater. It is a profit-making scam for the tire companies, manufacturers, and city governments for the mere disposal of the material at the cost of our children's health and pollution of the soil and groundwater. The EPA, USDA Agricultural Research Center, and various independent studies agree that scrap tires should never be used in gardens or landscaping due to the volatile chemicals they leach that are hazardous to our health and environment. Please sign this petition to let politicians know that we will not stand for our children's play areas becoming a dumping site for this toxic material.

The EPA's website says about scrap tires: "Illegal tire dumping pollutes ravines, woods, deserts and empty lots. For those reasons, most states have passed scrap tire regulations requiring proper management."
