Verizon wants to erect a cell phone tower at 9330 Elys Ford Road in Fredericksburg, VA, right in the middle of the Historic Chancellorsville Battlefield, adjacent to our National Military Park Service. The Chancellorsville Battlefield was a campaign fought in the spring of 1863 and was felt to be Rovert E. Lee's greatest victory during the Civil War. The battlefield has visitors from all over the world and is home to many trails, paths, driving tours, and historic markers; the skyline would be altered forever by the proposed cell tower. The 199-foot cell phone tower is not compatible with the historic nature of the land.
Why is this important?
I want to protect the battlefield for generations to come
