As family members, friends, caregivers, and consumers of long-term care services, we urge Governor Malloy, our elected officials, and Commissioner Prague to make the needed efforts to revise the Connecticut Nursing Home Residents' Bill of Rights to reflect recent initiatives to reduce the use of antipsychotic medications, and to strengthen protections by affirming the right to informed consent and to be free of unneeded medications. We further ask that the law be amended so that Residents' Bill of Rights be posted in every facility rather than supplied only upon admission to a facility.
Why is this important?
