Strive to Thrive

“Today our urban communities are no longer limited by law but by the tragedy of our own health.” - Dr. Victor Goode

Every decade, people of color have strived to overcome difficult challenges and thrived in the midst of adversity. Today, our greatest challenge is ourselves: the food we eat, the habits we’ve learned, the information we spread. We are a coalition here to advocate for more resources to build stronger, healthier and more involved communities.

Our mission is to use our celebrity and influence to inspire and compel people of color to live healthier lifestyles and become their best selves. Our mission is not about vanity, it’s about family. It’s not about preaching, it’s about teaching. It’s not about saying, It’s about doing.

By signing this petition, you are representing a movement. No longer will we stand aside and watch our brothers and sisters have their quality of life hindered by lack education and resources that empower us to live longer and thrive.

By signing this petition, you are the voice of a generation ushering in a new era of health and wellness. You are the change you want to see in the world.

Change comes by action and this is taking the first step. We have obstacles in our communities that we need must overcome to see a difference in our lives and the generations to come. Strive to Thrive stands firm on the following issues, and together we will be a part of the solution, not the problem.

Sign this petition if you want to:

- Improve access to affordable healthy food options in your community.

- Create programs to foster healthy eating and active lifestyle training in your community.

- Have more affordable and accessible fitness facilities in a community near you.

- Solve the ‘food desert’ problem by helping local convenience stores stock healthier products and to bring grocery stores to low income neighborhoods

- Grow food locally through backyard and community gardens and larger scale urban agriculture.

- Have financial literacy programs and seminars brought to a community near you.

- Highlight programs that are already doing these things well in your community.
