It is time for students to strike over the lack of meaningful gun control in the United States. Politicians accept contributions from the NRA and reject the will of the vast majority of the country who want to be protected from America's easy access to guns of all types, including rapid-fire assault weapons. Students should stay out of class until a real, viable, effective commitment is made to protect them rather than the gun lobby and its industry. They should ask for the rest of the county to support them in solidarity by walking off their jobs and going out onto the streets.
Why is this important?
It's time to break the NRA's stranglehold on gun control issues and to make our elected representatives act to protect students and others.
