Students against FAU decisions
I, the student of Florida Atlantic University, wish to express my complete dissatisfaction with the most recent decisions made concerning the public administration department. Though I, as a student, am not fully aware of the circumstances which determined those decisions, I am aware of and most definitely effected by the outcomes.
Allow me to now iterate to you the student’s perspective of the most recent goings-on:
1. The cancellation of required classes (specifically Research Methods, Quantitative Inquiry, and Capstone Seminar)
2. Poor decisions for the future of the program,
3. Increase in graduate student instructors
As a result of the decisions I, as a student, am concerned that, (1) the classes necessary for me to complete my degree will not be offered to me at the quality that I expect or in a timely manner. (2) The seriousness and the prestige of the college that I am associated with, the College of Design and Social Inquiry, is at risk. (3) The lack of transparency in making these decisions might be purposeful so as to veil unethical procedure in the sanctity of the academic setting.
As a student of this university, I hope my voice will be heard and required classes will be offered in lieu of introductory or elective courses.

Why is this important?
FAU is cutting our core required classes to graduate and blaming it on the Legislative budget cuts. We have tried communicating with President Saunders, Provost Claiborne, and Dean Carter and they have all dismissed our opinons. It is time to become organized and collaborate to save our futures and be able to graduate.
