A White House petition has begun to revive the 1972 Equal Rights Amendment, asking President Obama to support this revival and to campaign for it's successful ratification during his final term in office. Based on legal questions surrounding Amendment Ratification, as well as Supreme Court rulings on the matter and legal precedent with prior Amendments, the ERA has a fairly successful chance of being revived, and potentially ratified, should President Obama throw his election capital behind it.
