We strongly support President Obama's nomination of former Senator Chuck Hagel to be Secretary of Defense. His skepticism about the wisdom of attacking Iran is fully warranted, and he has the courage and experience to lead the U.S. military at a time when intelligent cuts in the Pentagon budget are necessary to make room for vital domestic, humanitarian and environmental causes.
