Support Common Sense Gun Laws

We don't need to be living in a war zone, yet unarmed citizens are being killed and maimed, because angry citizens have too easy access to guns. We ask you as our law makers to enact common sense laws that require gun owners to undergo background checks, gun safety education to safely store weapons, that stops online gun and ammunition sales, and makes gun manufacturers liable, as with tobacco growers, for their product impacts on community health.

Why is this important?

The threat of gun violence hangs over us every day, whether we are assembled for classes, a concert, or for public transportation, we can't help but have it cross our minds: what would we do if someone took out a gun? We can't walk down the street without knowing that our government is doing NOTHING to prevent violent people from having access to guns. Non gun owners right to reasonable safety is not being protected. That must change!
