Support Removal of Vote on Beechwood Supt Contract from 5/13 Agenda - Say No to New Contract!
Beechwood parents and community members are encouraged to sign this petition in support of removing the following motion at the 5/13 school board meeting from agenda:

Motion to rescind Dr. Mike Stacy's contract extension dated July 11, 2022 and approve a new 3 year contract
By signing this petition, you are demonstrating your support to request this motion (vote) be removed from the 5/13 agenda and placed on the agenda once the new school board is elected in November and begins their term in January 2025.
The current superintendent contract has him in place for one more year, but the motion to rescind this contract creates a vacancy and opportunity for the current board to vote on a new contract that would renew him for another 3 years. This is a fast tracked strategy and loophole to allow the current board to decide the fate of the Superintendent contract, rather than allow the next 3-4 years to be decided by the new board.

Beechwood Schools is a special place. It’s a difficult time for public education everywhere. A decision (aka motion for current school board to prematurely vote on Superintendent contract extension) could negatively impact the already jeopardized culture, which is critical to ensuring the district retains top teachers and creates an environment for learning that values educators and holds students accountable.
