Support Gov.Perdue on Voting Rights!

We believe a requirement of photo identification in order to vote in NC is unconstitutional and disenfranchises hundreds of thousands of citizens. We think Gov.Perdue was right to veto this proposal and support lawmakers who stand with her.

Why is this important?

Republicans want to override Gov. Perdue's veto of "Photo ID to vote in NC",House Bill 351. This "qualification"would prevent 450,000 citizens from voting. In-person voter fraud is NOT a significant issue in NC. This is an attempt to disenfranchise people without photo ID-students,the elderly, the poor,Hispanics and African Americans. NC House majority leader,Paul Stamm, says he has the votes to override Gov. Perdue's veto in May. We believe this requirement is unconstitutional. We support Gov.Perdue's veto.
