Support H.R. 2316 "Fair Sentencing Clarification Act of 2011"

Please support/ cosponsor H.R. 2316, the Fair Sentencing Clarification Act.

If passed, this bipartisan legislation would make recent changes to the crack cocaine sentencing laws retroactive so that prisoners serving unjust crack cocaine sentences can benefit from the reforms that Congress passed in 2010.

Why is this important?

In 2010, Republicans and Democrats joined together to pass one of the most important sentencing reform laws in over a decade: the Fair Sentencing Act of 2010. The Act increased the amount of crack cocaine needed to trigger long five and ten year mandatory minimums, in effect, lowering sentences. But the Act does not help people already serving prison sentences, even though Congress determined those sentences were unfair.
