To: The Kansas State House, The Kansas State Senate, and Governor Laura Kelly
Support Kansas AG: Request Kris Kobach to Resign
We, the Good Citizens and Friends of Kansas, proclaim our unwaivering support for the Kansas Agricultural and Livestock Community. We heartily applaud those groups and individuals, who through hard work and thoughtful research, have designed a fair, legal, and compassionate solution to the Kansas labor shortages which are justifiably certified by the Kansas Secretary of Labor.
The Good Citizens and Friends of Kansas also request that in the best interest of Kansas, that legislators and public officials strongly encourage Kris Kobach to resign as Kansas Secretary of State. We strongly feel that Mr.Kobach does not represent the growth or heart of Kansas and we will support a recall should he not voluntarily resign by March 31st, 2012. Our collective bi-partisan voices were heard loud and clear in the historical recall of Kris Kobach's associate, Senator Russell Pierce of Arizona.
Mr. Kobach has a bad track record of blowing like a tornado into states like Arizona, Alabama, and Georgia and whipping his ill-advised, racially charged, and short sighted legislation into law thereby yielding a crop of suffering, serious financial problems, and public relations nightmares. His efforts around the country have led to little more than social and economic destruction, including, but not limited to, rotting crops, canceled conventions, and the reluctance of businesses and industry to associate with anti-immigration law enacting states for fear of getting caught in the mire.
We also strongly believe that Mr. Kobach’s "extra-Secretarial" activities constitute a grievous conflict of interest and it is in the best interest of the people of Kansas to refuse to continue to allow Mr.Kobach to promote his self-serving privately paid agenda that would most likely saddle Kansas with a black eye, and a costly bill to boot. Kansans deserve a FULL TIME Secretary of State working on behalf of its hard working taxpayers.
Kansans don't want HATE in our State. We choose NOT to emulate Missouri, where Mr. Kobach practiced and steeped himself in anti-immigration rhetoric before coming to Kansas. Our voices and signatures also testify, in the spirit of John Brown, who lives on in the Good Citizens and Friends of Kansans, that we are seeking truth, justice, and good will to all persons, empowered and equipped by the All Mighty God who created those who have signed this petition, to do just that.
