Please sign this petition to prevent the gross expansion of the cruel and archaic practice of trapping. The New Mexico Game and Fish Board recently voted to expand trapping across an additional nine million acres of public lands starting January 1st, 2016. This is a torturous practice, and New Mexico's cougars, bob cats, and other predatory animals need your help.
Why is this important?
I love New Mexico's wildlife, and the practice of leg hold traps and snares is cruel and painful. Traps ensnare the animal, which is then forced to wait, immobilized and frightened, until the trapper comes and dispatches them. It is not right to treat our wildlife this way.
