Support Texas House Bill 595 "911 Bill"

"Texas House Bill 595 makes it a criminal offense to use emergency resources for the purpose of causing a law enforcement agency to take action against another person wrongfully when they have intentionally selected the person described because of the defendant's bias or prejudice against a group identified by race, color, disability, religion, national origin or ancestry, age, gender, or sexual preference or by status as a peace officer or judge."

Why is this important?

I am starting this petition because I feel this bill is needed and could possibly save lives. The types of calls made to 911 should be for emergencies and where there are life and death scenarios. We are witnessing our tax dollars going to waste by individuals calling 911 on people who are not committing any crimes but are only participating in daily activities such as walking, gardening, studying, and talking to their friends. Making frivolous calls to 911 ends up taking time and resources from callers that actually need help.
