The downtown Batavia Walgreens has been an anchor on Wilson Street for over 20 years, providing a strong tax base to support City services while offering a necessary convenience to downtown residents, visitors and employees of local businesses. We are asking the Batavia City Council to secure a strong and usable downtown Batavia for this generation and for generations to come by keeping a long-standing Batavia business viable. We are calling on the Batavia City Council to support Plan 14 that has been proposed by Batavia Enterprises, Inc. and worked on with city officials for over 2 years for the building of a new Walgreens in downtown Batavia that is pedestrian friendly and bicycle friendly to create a business friendly downtown that encourages residents and visitors to shop in the Batavia downtown.
Why is this important?
Help ensure that the City of Batavia Government exercises rationality in its action on Plan 14 by approving the reasonable variances that will allow Walgreens to remain in downtown Batavia.
