Support the Marketplace Fairness Act

The Marketplace Fairness Act helps level the playing field for local retailers. It is not fair that brick-and-mortar merchants, who employ local residents and pay local real estate taxes, should have to compete with online retailers who are exempt from charging sales tax. It is also not fair that Internet transactions are exempt from sales tax at a time when governments across the country are struggling to find funds to meet local and state needs

Why is this important?

Internet merchants should pay sales tax. Exempting these merchants is not fair to local merchants who must pay taxes and it also short changes state and local governments.
