Support Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2014

The most important and fundamental right of an American citizen is the right to vote. It is necessary to restore the protections of access to the ballot box that were removed when SCOTUS gutted the Voting Rights Act. Nationwide, state legislators immediately began taking actions to try and limit access to the vote by the old, the poor, and minorities, making it clear that the basis on which SCOTUS reached their decision was flawed. We are not past the need for Federal level protections against states willing to implement unfair laws to deny access to the right to vote. Todd Young should support the Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2014, and demonstrate he believes in the most fundamental right of all Americans, the right to vote.

Why is this important?

I grew up in Alabama in the 50's and 60's, when Blacks were denied the right not only to vote, but to drink from the same water fountain or use the same public rest rooms, or to even use elevators in office buildings with White people. I have witnessed our history, and know the truth of how far people will go to protect power and deny others access to their fundamental human rights.
