Support Water Supply Research

Water is a fundamental need, one with no boundaries. All nations, all creatures are affected by water availability. Whether or not we believe in global warming, shortage of fresh water and lack of access to clean, drinkable water are reals problem for industrialized and emerging societies alike.

We want to send a message to our policy makers, our representatives in government, and our academic leaders: water technology and water stewardship are important. We want to affirm a policy that makes it clear managing water resources is every bit as important a world issue as exporting our ideology.

To move this beyond the talk, let's make it clear that water research and pursuit of water stewardship solutions are real and valuable academic and industrial pursuits. Let's find ways to be able to fund the discoveries and engineering development, and follow that up with practical ways to export our discoveries and learnings.

The world has seen our smart bombs, our drone killing machines, our depleted uranium bullets, our oil spills. How wonderful might it be if the next technologies our brother and sister nations experience from us were the ones feeding their water pipes, watering their crops, and helping them keep their families healthy?

Cheaper desalinization, more affordable pumping and filtration technologies, improved delivery systems, more efficient agricultural use of water, these are not Rocket Science ... they are practical mechanical engineering, social, and political problems. And they are all within the realm of solvable.

We have pioneered so many miraculous technologies over the decades, technologies which have undeniably changed the nature of human life on earth. Let's make our next gift to the world be a lasting one, a gift worthy of our real and positive greatness and therefore worthy of celebration for generations to come.

Let's give the world water solutions that work.

Why is this important?

Clean and safe drinking water is only a dream for literally millions of people around the world. Even industrialized nations face serious water supply issues today, issues which affect agriculture and industry. Rural and urban people are all affected. It looks like it will be worse in the years ahead. We need to make more political and financial support for exploration of clean water solutions a priority.
