"Supporting the Postal Service"
“We the undersigned constituents of the 9th legislative district of Pennsylvania are filing this petition regarding our support of the United States Postal Service Pension Obligation Recalculation and Restoration Act of 2011. The postal recalculation is important because it potentially redistributes the post office’s OWN money; thus making the organization more efficient and viable. The intent of HR 1351 is to apply to allocations of past, present, and future benefit liabilities between the USPS and the Treasury.
We would like to see your support and Co-Sponsor this bill. Allowing the postal service to function effectively would benefit every citizen of your legislative district along with every citizen of the United States. This issue continues to plague the post office due to the fact that it is the only public or private sector business that is required to pre fund retirement benefits.

Why is this important?
Please urge your Congressman the co-sponsorship of HR 1351. This bill requires the re-calculation of the mandated pre-retirement fund. Failure to pass this bill would potentially eliminate Saturday plus other days of delivery, once again this will cause the lose of 80,000 middle class jobs within the postal service, if not for the mandated Pension obligation the postal service would have made 650 million dollars from 2006 to 2010.
