Suspend Reno's sister-city relationship with Nalchik, Russia
Officials in Russia, host of the 2014 Winter Olympics, made headlines last week when they announced that gay Olympic athletes and spectators from any country—and anyone publicly showing support for them—would be prosecuted under Russia's horrendous "gay propaganda" law, which makes talking about being gay, waving a rainbow flag, or holding hands with a same-sex partner in public illegal.
This goes against basic Olympic and American values, and Americans should take some action to protest this blatant discrimination. I am calling for the City of Reno to suspend it's sister-city relationship with Nalchik, Russia until Russia changes it's position.
