Syria
Could someone ask President Obama or Mr. Kerry "What if Russia and China unite and make a joint statement that Syria is their ally and if the U.S. or any other country or multilateral force strikes a target in Syria it would be an act of aggression against Russia and China and, therefore, they would defend and retaliate."
Suppose, before the U.S. strikes Syria, China and Russia send their planes and defense missiles into Syria and unambiguously say; "If U.S. strikes a target in Syria they (China & Russia) will immediately go into combat."
How should the U.S. respond to such a statement and to deployment of Russian and Chinese jets and defense missiles into Syria?
Why aren't our leaders thinking about the possibility of a united (joint) response from China and Russia before threatening to strike in Iraq, Libya and now Syria?
Sincerely,
Jaffer Qamar

Why is this important?
i am concerned that what seems like a simple surgical strike in Syria could have huge consequences, especially if Russia escalates or raises the stakes.
