Take back the vote.

The time has come to end the Electoral College and give the voting power in presidential elections to the people. The electoral college was created with the thought that the American population could be easily manipulated by tyrants or fraudulent leadership, an idea manifested in the federalist papers, and with the idea that smaller states would lose power in the decision making process. Thanks to educational development and intellectual progress our society is no longer any more vulnerable to deceit than a panel of appointees. Furthermore, the distribution of vote to state population ratio is inaccurate and serves an ideal that is novel in modern times. People should sign on to end the mockery of our democracy which demeans the value of our intelligence and will as a nation. The time for archaic functions and failing systematics must pass.
Due to the Electoral College being implemented by the U.S. Constitution an amendment must be made in order to correct this long running injustice to the American citizens. In order to ensure the voter’s power is no longer mishandled an amendment must be made by the 2012 presidential elections.
We the American people demand this basic right be instated, and as the will of the people is the will of our Democracy, so it shall be.
