Corporate contributions have distorted (often said corrupted) the democratic process, moving us away from electing leaders with an interest in increasing the overall public good and towards providing benefits to the small, select groups of corporations that got them elected.
Please enact laws that create an environment for the election of all leaders that does not rely on corporate-financed elections.
Why is this important?
This is an important policy that the majority of Americans see as needing cleaned up and should become a litmus test for the next set of elections.
I think this is an important issue that needs worked on and not forgotten or pushed aside by the many issues that will come between now and the next set of local and national elections.
