In 2013, a Neo-Confederate group known as Virginia Flaggers raised a giant Confederate battle flag in Chester, VA next to Interstate 95 and John Tyler Community College Chester campus. You may have seen this flag if you have been in Chester on or near I-95. I am a student at John Tyler Community College and I see this flag through the trees every time I am on campus. It should be quite clear that the only purpose of this flag is to provoke African Americans and other minorities. For more information on this issue, visit
