Take Limbaugh Off KXYL, Brownwood, Texas

Remember that other hate radio show KXYL sponsored? When it became apparent that it was turning people away from our fair city and having an economic impact, KXYL removed the show. It's time they cancelled Limbaugh. No more stupid. No more vicious rantings. Give our airwaves to those who practice free speech not vicious speech.

Why is this important?

"What if it were your employee? If your employee called a customer a slut or a whore or asked her for a video of herself having sex, how long would that person stay employed with you? How long would you expect your customer to continue doing business with you?"

It's really that simple. It's not a political issue or free speech. It about having respect for your customers and fellow human beings. Are we the kind of community that condones this kind of behavior? What is the pulse of our community? Do we talk and think like that?

"KXYL monitors the pulse of the community - not only with news - but special broadcasts. For instance, when the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce visited the Texas Legislature (Feb 15), KXYL went along; and featured the activities with a live broadcast from Austin during the reception held for legislators in the Austin Club Medallion Ballroom. In addition, both City Manager Bobby Rountree and Mayor Steven Haynes regularly drop in to explain what is going on at City Hall beyond the headlines."
