Racism is an ugly and deadly plague that divides and erodes nations and poisons the spirit. It cannot be legislated away, it is a personal journey. We can all begin the walk by taking the pledge to examine our own souls individual by individual to stop racism at its root - in our hearts.
Why is this important?
A little girl endured the ugliness of racism and ostracism because a white establishment could not digest the thought of a black child graduating valedictorian from a previously all-white high-school in Southwest Georgia. That little girl was me and I vowed to spend the rest of my life scratching out the cancer of racism from its core.
