Eliminate special treatment of capital gains and dividends from the tax code. Tax all income at the same rates, regardless of source.
Why is this important?
Currently, capital gains and dividens are taxed at lower rates than wages. There is no reason for this. The only thing special about capital gains is that rich people have them: that's why they're always pushing for lower tax rates on them.
The same tax rates should apply to all income, regardless of source.
