We need more tax revenue. We need to put people to work. We (the USA) would benefit by less violence in Mexico. If Mexico had less violence more Mexicans would stay in Mexico. This is a win/win/win for all except those who think Pot leads to heroin or other worse drugs. If pot is sold in a med pot store, then the pusher is not selling something else to the buyer. Now we are getting no tax revenues at all. Tax at 10% to 20% and it is a winner. Better for Mexico and immigration. Better for our State and Federal budgets and it gets it off the streets and away from our kids. At the very least more than it is now.
Why is this important?
We have some states started to legalize medical marijuana. We are collecting no taxes. State, local or Federal on these sales. In the Calif collectives, they are calling it a donation, with minimums, etc for what the buyer wants. The Feds still call it illegal, wasting resources on a medicine that has killed no one. No overdoses, ever. No pot driving accidents.
