To: The United States House of Representatives and The United States Senate
Tax Returns Required
Those declaring their candidacy for President or Vice President of the United States, the US Senate, or the US House of Representatives shall publicly disclose (at minimum) the immediate and complete prior five (5) years of US tax returns and attach them to the declaration of candidacy. In the case of the candidacy of the Vice President, those documents shall be attached to the POTUS candidate's application prior to the announcement of the choice of the VPOTUS candidate.
Why is this important?
The purpose of this petition is to allow the public the ability to discover potential conflicts of interest that could affect the candidate's future work. Prior to the 2016 election, this has been a tradition but not a requirement. However, given the level of conflict of interest displayed in the current administration this disclosure should be made a requirement to prevent future corruption and oligarchic possibilities at the federal level.
