Our tax code is rigged for the 1%. More than two-thirds of people already think the rich should pay more in taxes, but in Congress, at school district meetings, and in state capitols, most of the budget fights center around what community services to cut.
If we tax millionaires and corporations—the 1%—their fair share, our communities can talk about investments in our schools and job training programs instead of deciding what to cut next.
Why is this important?
We have a large deficit and the rich are not paying their fair share.
