I propose a tax on profits from violent media such as movies and video games. The revenue raised could then be directed towards funding a national Mental Health initiative. While the First Amendment allows free speech, it says nothing about profiting from what you say. We apply taxes to Alcohol, Tobacco, and other products in an effort to control them why not violent media?
