we hereby petition the federal government and congress to hereby cancel all leases to federal land for discovery of oil and rewrite them so the payment to the taxpayers who own the oil will be $2 a gallon gas for as long as they are taking oil from federal lands. Also pass a law that all oil and gasolene, including oil sand from Canada, stays in the united States. No more subsidides or royalties.
Why is this important?
Oil drilled on Federal lands belongs to us, the taxpayers, not the oil industry. It is time for us, the taxpayers to have a say in how the oil is used and what the payment from the oil companies should be to us, the taxpayers.
