I am deeply disturbed that people who hold much of the political power in this country are willing to damage our government so severely in order to further their political goals. This is not patriotism. It's treason!
Why is this important?
Republican extremism has impacted me in this way: friends of mine are now out of work as a result of the government shutdown. I am concerned for both my wife and myself about our Social Security and Medicare benefits.
