Tell 2020 candidates to show up for the Climate Strike on 9/20

All 2020 presidential candidates should join with millions around the world who will take part in Climate Strike rallies on Friday, September 20. Events are being organized by local youth organizers in every part of the United States, so there's no excuse for candidates to skip an opportunity to show up and lend their support for such an important action.

Why is this important?

The US Youth Climate Strike, Sunrise Movement, 350.org, and many others have been among those leading the climate movement in the United States.

While we continue to support calls for a climate debate, we must recognize other opportunities to speak out about the climate crisis. The CNN town hall on climate was a good first step. All candidates should also participate in the MSNBC town hall.

However, knowing there are Climate Strike events all over the country means every candidate will have an opportunity to step off the political stage and instead join the grassroots movement in solidarity.

We can't wait until after the 2020 elections to start tackling the existential crisis facing human life on this planet. We have to mobilize now.

Tell the 2020 candidates to make plans to join a Climate Strike event this Friday.
