Tell Christie: Put Every Exxon Dollar to Restoration

Communities like Bayonne and Linden are counting on the lawsuit against ExxonMobil to restore access to the waterfront, plant trees, build parks, and improve natural habitats. Send every dollar from ExxonMobil to cover the cost of restoring New Jersey communities that have suffered.

Why is this important?

Chris Christie’s horrible settlement with ExxonMobil just keeps getting worse. No matter how much Exxon ends up paying to restore the wetlands it polluted, people in Bayonne and Linden could see zero dollars put back into restoring their communities.

How could this have happened? Gov. Christie has bungled our state’s finances, so he rigged the budget last year to raid funds from corporate polluters to pay for basic expenses. Now, no matter how much money our state wins in damages from corporate polluters like Exxon, there’s a cap on the amount that goes to restore wetlands and rivers.

People in Bayonne and Linden have suffered enough. Sign the petition calling on Gov. Christie to send every dollar from Exxon to restore New Jersey communities.
