Tell Congress: BLOCK Trump’s $400 million bribe!

UPDATE 8/22: The Trump Administration is trying to make taxpayers like you foot the bill to upgrade the plane bribe Qatar gave him – and Republicans in Congress are refusing to stop it. Trump is reportedly spending $1 billion of your money to upgrade the $400 million luxury jet bribe he got from Qatar. And he's floating the idea of keeping the plane at his presidential library after he leaves office. But instead of blocking this blatantly corrupt move, Republicans on the Senate Appropriations Committee have unanimously refused to do so.
This should be a no-brainer for Congress: Don’t let Trump violate the Constitution and steal a government plane. But apparently that’s too much to ask of our elected representatives.
Read on for more information about why we must block Trump from keeping this billion-dollar vanity plane.

Members of congress must use their authority to block Trump from accepting the $400 million luxury plane Qatar is gifting to him. This isn't an innocent gift, it's a bribe from a country that wants favorable treatment. The Constitution’s Emoluments Clause forbids presidents from accepting these sorts of "gifts" for obvious reasons.

Congress must REJECT this shady plane deal and hold this administration accountable to working for We The People—not the highest bidder.
Why is this important?
Two weeks ago, news broke that Trump is building a $5.5 billion golf club in Qatar. [3] Now, Qatar is offering Trump a $400 million jet to use as Air Force One, and then keep for personal use after his term is over.
That’s right—Trump wants to accept by far the most valuable gift in presidential history from a foreign government, and Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is supposed to impartially enforce our laws, is giving him the all-clear. Trump is not working for the people—he’s cashing in.
We don't need to spell it out: This isn’t an innocent gift, it’s a bribe from a country that wants favorable treatment. And it’s a clear violation of our constitution.
And instead of treating this like the corruption it is, Attorney General Pam Bondi—fresh off of a $115,000 per month lobbying job for Qatar—is rubber-stamping this clear conflict of interest. But this is par for the course for Trump: While working people are struggling to put food on the table, Trump is securing a $400 million luxury plane for himself.
Help mobilize against this egregious corruption. Sign the petition and tell Congress: REJECT Trump’s shady plane deal from Qatar!
