As North Carolinians, we believe that protecting voting rights is vital to our democracy. We call on Congress to support voting rights for all citizens by ensuring that:
1. Federal laws encourage voter engagement.
2. Proper federal oversight guards against state laws that create unfair barriers to voting.
3. States have adequate funds to effectively conduct fair and accessible elections.
Why is this important?
The right to vote is the most fundamental freedom that we have as North Carolinians and it must be protected. Our elections should be free, fair and accessible for all citizens.
