Tell Congress to support medical liability reform

We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned with sky-rocketing health care costs and how they impact our access to care for ourselves and our family. The Department of Health and Human Services estimates that between $70 and $126 billion in medical liability costs are passed on to patients each year as a result of defensive medicine, as physicians try to cover all bases to avoid lawsuits.

Common sense medical liability reforms, like those included in H.R. 5, the Help Efficient, Accessible, Low-cost Timely Health Care (HEALTH) Act, will lower insurance premiums for doctors and reduce defensive medicine, which will in turn lower costs for patients.

According to the Congressional Budget Office, comprehensive medical liability reforms could also reduce the deficit by $54 billion over ten years.

As health care costs continue to climb out of control, both physicians AND patients really need your help. Please support H.R. 5 and help reduce health care costs and the deficit. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Why is this important?

This is urgently important. Not only do we, as patients, need to find a way to ensure "medicinal liability costs" don't cost us money, but we also need to make sure we can avoid losing our doctors (as well as our right to choose who we want to be seen by). H.R. 5 will help reduce the costs for health care (and the deficit will be reduced by this as well).
