Tell Defazio to come out strongly for gun control.
Rep. Defazio, we want you to take the LEAD in ending gun violence. Do not duck this issue with palliatives about the 2nd amendment and assault bans "not working". We will do all we can to protect you from the right wing in our district if you do, but, WE WILL FIND SOMEONE WHO IS NOT AFRAID TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT to vote for in two years if you do not.
Why is this important?
Rep. Peter Defazio has consistently voted against an assault weapons ban and other gun control measures like handgun registration and trigger locks. The Newtown massacre should have finally shown this otherwise smart and liberal congressperson that it is time to act, and act decisively to protect all Americans from the onslaught of senseless violence that has taken so many lives, but it has not. Defazio will only say it is time to begin a "national dialogue" on violence. Let's tell him that this is not enough - and there will be a consequence if he does not take a strong lead in helping us to end gun violence.
