Tell Governor Beshear To Stop Wasting KY Tax Money
Gov. Steve Beshear: Stop wasting taxpayer money by going against the Kentucky attorney general's decision and hiring private legal counsel to appeal a federal judge's ruling that the state must recognize same-sex marriages performed elsewhere. Don't use taxpayer money to defend a discriminatory law that will not stand.
Why is this important?
This is a discriminatory law that will not stand in appeals. Many similar laws have already fallen in appeals. The U.S. attorney general has encouraged states not to defend these laws. The governor is wasting taxpayer funds for the purpose of political grandstanding.
