Tell Governor Susana Martinez To Keep the New Mexico National Guard Out of Donald Trump’s Deporta...

The White House has drafted a memo calling for the New Mexico National Guard to round up hundreds of thousands of immigrants in. But this can’t happen without Governor Susana Martinez’s approval. We demand that Governor Susana Martinez keeps our state’s National Guard out of Donald Trump’s Deportation Force.

Why is this important?

According to the Associated Press, the Trump administration is considering a plan mobilize as many as 100,000 National Guard troops to round up millions of undocumented immigrants in states along the southern border. This includes states like California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas; as well as states adjacent to border states, like Oregon, Nevada, Arkansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Utah, and Louisiana.

Governors have the final approval on National Guard deployments. This means Donald Trump’s plan won’t work without the support of Governors.

So if we want to stop the systematic removal of millions of aspiring Americans from the United States by the National Guard, we need to make sure Governors in the targeted states hear from their constituents.

Please join with me and demand that Governor Susana Martinez does not authorize the New Mexico National Guard from joining Donald Trump’s Deportation Force.

Reasons for signing

  • As my Governor Susan Martinez, this is your Responsibility to keep the ICE Agents out of the States of New Mexico, as you keep your promise to your Constituent.
  • Immigrants are what makes our nation great. Do not allow a fascist President to take over our country. This is not us, nor should it be you!
  • This ought to be a no-brainer. The proposed "Deportation Force" isn't just a hardship for the state's Hispanic population, it would also be a hardship for the Guardsmen who have so many better things to do with their lives at this time.
