Tell Harry Reid to Include the Talking Filibuster in Filibuster Reform

According to sources, Harry Reid might be wavering on holding a vote on filibuster reform (in particular, not including the talking filibuster). Please call Harry Reid and let him know it's time to include measures in filibuster reform to end Republican obstructionism - if any Senator opposes a bill or nomination, they should have to stand on the Senate floor and defend their opposition!

Why is this important?

This petition will let Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid know that a majority of Americans support the notion that if a Senator opposes a bill or a nomination, that they must stand on the Senate floor and voice their opposition. I have been personally affected by this issue because several bills introduced on the Senate floor (as well as several bills that could not be introduced due to the filibuster) have been blocked by Republican Senators via the filibuster without voicing their opposition to the bill on the Senate floor and engaging in the public debate that the Senate was supposed to facilitate. Such bills include: 1) Employee Free Choice Act; 2) Public Option in healthcare reform; 3) Paycheck Fairness Act; 4) Creating American Jobs and Ending Offshoring Act; 5) American Jobs Act (and the Teachers and First Responders Back to Work Act of 2011); 6) Repeal Big Oil Tax Subsidies Act; 7) DISCLOSE Act; 8) DREAM Act. This does not even include the numerous amount of judicial and federal appointments!
