KSBW ran a " news " piece featuring a Santa Cruz City Police Dept spokesperson accusing a City Council candidate ( Leonie Sherman) of being an anarchist because of her participation in the Seattle WTO protests. Worse yet the station ran a film of black clad anarchists committing acts of vandalism, in which Sherman had never been involved. The station's sponsors will be sent this petition so they so they are informed of the low level that the station had stooped with this piece.
Why is this important?
This candidate lost by a small number of votes , it is likely this prejudiced and misleading news piece had a large role in the vote margin.
