Tell PA Legislators to Quit ALEC
In the past few days, legislators around the country and major corporate sponsors of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) have indicated they will not renew their memberships to the controversial corporate front group.
If you are a member of ALEC, I urge you to take the lead of dozens of your fellow PA legislators and corporations like Pepsi, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Coke, Kraft and Intel and quit ALEC now.
If you are not a member, I urge you to make a public statement denouncing ALEC and asking your fellow legislators to withdraw their membership.
Send your message to [email protected] so your name can be added to the list of legislators standing with the people of Pennsylvania. (List posted at www.JustSayNoToALEC.com)

Why is this important?
Fourteen Pennsylvania legislators with ties to the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) have publicly stated that they are no longer affiliated with the controversial corporate front group. They join dozens of legislators across the country who are fleeing ALEC in response to public pressure from constituents.
ALEC is behind the efforts to pass bills that strip away union rights, scale back child labor laws, attack the regulation power of environmental agencies, suppress voter rights with strict identification requirements, eliminate the social safety net, and privatize public services. ALEC is not just another public policy organization, it is a corporate front group supporting some of the most radical and dangerous legislation in the nation.
Still, dozens of legislators, including more than 60 Democrats, have not publicly rejected ALEC. Two Democrats, Rep. Joseph Petrarca and Rep. W. Curtis Thomas, are members of ALEC and have not resigned.
